History



The history of over 50 years of business of Banco Indusval S.A. is based on serious management and respect for customers and stakeholders. Additionally, it bases its constant renovation and growth in a strategy of deep customer knowledge, agility in credit evaluation and concession and in the strengthening of its administration structure, risk management and information technology.

 

2013

Acquisition of Voga Empreendimentos e Participações Ltda and Banco Intercap S.A., and launch of the project to transform our brokerage Guide Investimentos. Through the acquisition of Voga, BI&P enlarges its operations in investment banking activities, especially in M&A, corporate debt issuance and other fixed income products, IPO and financial valuations. Through the acquisition of Banco Intercap, Banco BI&P increase its capital base and assets and also strengthens its control group and board of directors, with the entry of two important Brazilian businessmen, Messrs. Afonso Antonio Hennel and Roberto de Rezende Barbosa. Guide Investimentos continues to serve institutional clients of the brokerage and innovates with the investment platform which provides tailor-made product offering for high net worth individuals.

2012

BI&P shares (BM&FBOVESPA tickers: IDVL3 and IDVL4) starts trading under Level 2 Corporate Governance listing segment and creation of the joint venture C&BI Agro Partners, an association of BI&P with Lifegrain Holding de Participações Ltda, a company of the Ceagro Agrícola Ltda group, aiming to boost the origination of agribusiness bonds.

2011

A new expansion phase started in March 2011: Indusval attracts new investors and increases its capital in R$201 million through the subscription of the Bank’s current controlling shareholders, Warburg Pincus and Setrading S.A. and strengthens its management team. In addition to the partnership with Warburg Pincus, one of the largest global private equity funds, and Sertrading, one of the leading companies in foreign trade services in Brazil, Mr. Jair Ribeiro becomes a shareholder and joins the Management Team, leading a group of experienced professionals in the financial and capital markets, to support the growth of business under a new vision of innovation and excellence in corporate lending, with deep knowledge of its customers’ activities and a diversified new product offering. To translate this new vision a new trade name is adopted: BI&P BANCO INDUSVAL & PARTNERS.

2009

BIM made a strategic partnership with Serendipity Holding Financeira, company belonging to distinguished professionals in the brokerage area to develop the business of Indusval Multistock Corretora de Valores by having a focused management in this activity. Also in 2009, the Cayman Branch was started to facilitate foreign funding and the relationship with correspondent banks.

2008

BNDES onlendings were started through its FINAME, Automatic BNDES and Exim products and the project to retake consumer credit was tested with the financing of used vehicles through BIM Promotora de Vendas. This project was discontinued six months after its inception due to the international financial crisis in considering the imbedded potential risk of the new venture. In October 2008, amid the crisis, a US$ 56 million A/B Loan syndicated under the IFC - International Finance Corporation umbrella was obtained. In the same year, IFC granted Banco Indusval Multistock a Recognition Award for Best Utilization of the Global Trade Finance Program (GTFP).

2007

Banco Indusval Multistock made its Initial Public Offering (IPO) with the issuance of new shares increasing its paid-up capital by R$ 227.5 million and listed its shares under Level 1 of Corporate Governance at BM&FBOVESPA. At the end of 2007, developing its expansion strategy, new branches were opened including Rio de Janeiro, Campo Grande in Mato Grosso do Sul state, Maringá in the state of Paraná, Porto Alegre in Rio Grande do Sul and Uberlandia in Minas Gerais. Banco Indusval Multistock celebrated its 40th anniversary by becoming a publicly quoted company with 11 branches located in the most active economic regions in the country where its target clients are located.

2006

Under this strategy, the geographical expansion started by opening branches capitals of States of economic importance such as Belo Horizonte in the State of Minas Gerais, Curitiba in the State of Paraná, Goiania in the State of Goias and Campinas in the State of São Paulo to add to the operations of the headquarters in the city of São Paulo. This doubled the Bank's operating capacity. In the same period, agreements were signed with the IFC – International Finance Corporation and, further on, with IADB – InterAmerican Development Bank both from World Bank Group, to enhance the Trade Finance activities.

2004

The Consumer Credit activities were sold and BIM focused on the expansion of Middle Market lending.

2000

In partnership with Banco Multistock S.A., Valeu Promotora de Vendas was acquired to develop the operations of Indusval Financeira in Consumer Credit. This partnership resulted in the merger with Banco Multistock S.A., in 2003, shifting its commercial name to - Banco Indusval Multistock. Trade Finance operations also started in that year.

1967

Foundation of Indusval Corretora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários S.A., a brokerage house, that was acquired in 1971, by the Ciampolini and Ribeiro families, becoming Banco Indusval S.A. in 1991 and operating in corporate lending to small and mid-sized companies from 1993.
